Proton seems to be raking up the required mileage for the upcoming 2016 Proton Saga, as number of spyshots continue to increase.
From what we can tell, it appears that Proton is testing several variants of the 2016 Saga, as previous spyshots have shown that the company was testing a black coloured Saga. That particular black Saga, it seems, does not come equipped with a rear fog light, something this mule has.
Based on the outgoing Proton Saga, the updated 2016 Proton Saga will be sold as a A-segment sedan. The upcoming Persona, on the other hand, will be positioned as Proton’s sole B-segment sedan. And yes, the new Proton Saga will be going head-to-head against the new Perodua D63D sedan, which will be making a debut in the coming months.
Under the hood, expect to see the Proton Iriz’s 1.3-litre Campro VVT engine powering the new sedan. Buyers of the new Saga can expect to choose between a five-speed manual or a CVT. In line with Proton’s current strategy, it would be safe to assume that the new Saga will be equipped with a decent amount of safety kit, including ABS, EBD, VSA, TC and Hill Hold Assist.
