Last Saturday was the SNF 2014 Championship Awards Presentation. Held at Sepang International Circuit (SIC), the event was held in conjunction with the launch of the SNF 2014 Series which we reported here.
With plenty of barbecued burgers and hot dogs, there were 10 categories in total where prizes were given out to. All nicely laid out just at the entrance of Pit 4 at the SIC Paddock area, the crowd slowly started to arrive at 3.30pm before Adian Yein took to the stage to kick off the event.
A short speech was given by Dhayalan R. Renno, the Chief executive of Nusa Consult Sdn Bhd (Ducatus Motor Oil), one of the sponsor for SNF.
After the speeches, the prizes were then presented out to the following winners. In total there were 10 categories in which prizes will be presented to the winners. Here are the SNF Championship 2013 Final Standings.

As the event came to a close, I definitely became a fan of the SNF event as it brings racing out of the streets and allows speed freaks to channel their energy towards motorsports. I am also glad that they included in tyre regulation in the new series as tyres are freakishly expensive and having deep coffers will definitely grab you that extra second on the track.
I definitely look forward to the new SNF 2014 Series starting in March.

Street Car Categories
- Mini Classic – Classic BL / Rover that were manufactured in 1959-2000 Brtish Leyland / Rover Mark I Mark VII, Clubmen, Traveller, Bodyshells pikap.
- Super 1500 – Engine Front / Mid / Back Engine, FWD / RWD / 4WD and cars under 1500cc. Only high volume unibody monocoque chassis are allowed. (Lotus Elise / Exige / Ariel Atom / KTM X-Bow / Radical and the rest do not qualify). Rotary engines are not allowed. Only naturally aspirated engines are allowed.
- SNF Moto 135 – Production motorcycles with a capacity of 135cc (2 stroke) or 200cc (4 stroke)
- SNF Moto 150 – Production motorcycles with a capacity of 150cc (2 stroke) or 250cc (4 stroke)
- Proton 1800 NA – Proton car and engine vehicles only, must be a production-based Proton vehicle; up to 1899cc, naturally-aspirated engines utilising original production Proton-type engine parts only (MIVEC heads not permitted); original powertrain format and mountings.
- Honda 1800 NA – Honda car and engine vehicles only, must be a production-based Honda vehicle; up to 1899cc, naturally-aspirated engines utilising original production Honda-type engine parts only; mixed powertrain format and mountings permitted (B18C engine in an EK9 body).
- Street Tuned – Front/Mid/Rear Engine, FWD/RWD /4WD cars, high volume unibody monocoque chassis only . Specific capacities and engines permitted are:
– Forced induction up to 1600cc (turbo or super)
– Naturally aspirated with following limitations:
o 4-valve and 5-valve per cylinder engines up to 1900cc,
o 2-valve and 3-valve per cylinder engines up to 2500cc,
o Mazda rotary-engine up to 1308cc (maximum 2 rotors only) peripheral port not
permitted,
o Honda VTEC engines not permitted. Other Variable Valve Timing engines are permitted ie MIVEC, VVTI, VANOS, etc.
Competition-prepared Cars
- Racing Cars – Class 1 – Competition-prepared cars are only allowed. Low Volume Sportscars will be categorised in Class 1. No Street Tyres are allowed. Class 1 is for cars above 1900cc
- Racing Cars – Class 2 – Competition-prepared cars are only allowed. Low Volume Sportscars will be categorised in Class 1. No Street Tyres are allowed. Class 2 is for cars below 1900cc
- Special Kei – Front / Mid Engine / Back Engine, FWD / RWD / 4WD and cars under 1000cc. Only high volume unibody monocoque chassis are allowed. Street tyres only.
