Unbeknownst to many, the Swedish is as good, perhaps more crazy than the Italians, the Germans and the Brits combined when it comes to making hypercars. Case in point, the Koenigsegg. Their cars may not stole much thunder as the other Italian supercars did, and it has toughest name to pronounce, but no one could argue a Koenigsegg supercar is ludicrously brilliant. Thier latest incarnation, the One:1, could be one hypercar that could make children to throw away posters of Ferraris or Lamborghinis to replace with this on their bed rooms.
There is no typo on Koenigsegg’s latest product, as after all, the One:1 is to demonstrate its enormous power to weight ratio of one to one. That’s right, this mad car will have 1,340 horsepower with just 1,340 kilograms! With such maniacal power to weight ratio, the One:1 is set to dethrone the Buggati Veyron SuperSports for the title of the World fastest production car, as simulated data suggested that given the car in the right conditions and suitable track length, the One:1 is capable to clock the top speed of 450 KM/H!
The One:1 is based on Koenigsegg Agera supercar where most of the Agera parts were replaced with carbon fiber materials and various unique components. No price was announced, but given that only six units were made, all has been sold out prior the car’s debut at Geneva Motor Show next month.
I always have a soft side towards Sweden. Not only they made great pop music, good meat balls and ingenious furniture, they do make some of the toughest cars in the world. It seems that making hypercars that is a lust to petrolheads should be added among Swedish specialty, soon.
