The team built a new chassis, and using electric bits from the Boxster-E, gave the team more than just a static model, but one that could actually be driven. During the build, Porsche noted that it was crucial to upkeep typical Porsche proportions. The lack of a engine up front meant that the design team was able to give the Mission-E a really low-slung front, as well as being free of large air intakes. Similar to old Porsche models of the 1950s, in fact. The team also incorporated design cues from the Porsche 919 racer into the Mission-E.

Furthermore, the team took careful consideration into developing an air curtain to guide air along the front wheels. The front of the Mission-E is flanked by a pair of four-point LED headlights, with a pair of air intakes located below. Being the company’s first electric sports car, the team figured that the company’s design language could be developed further. The Mission-E also had to be recognized as a Porsche at a glance.
