Toyota Corolla Altis facelift (2)

Currently sold in approximately 150 countries and regions around the world and accounting for around 20% of Toyota’s global sales, the Corolla remains the most popular vehicle in the company’s line-up.

The world’s best-selling sedan has now being given a makeover inside and out for the European market. The front has been completely restyled featuring a small upper grille flanked by new LED headlamp clusters, including new LED light guides, and a revised front bumper incorporating a large lower grille.

On the side, the door handles receive a new chrome trim finish and there also a choice of new 16-inch and 17-inch alloy wheel designs.

Moving to the rear, greater style is added through the adoption of new LED tail lamp clusters and a new chrome garnish which further emphasizes the vehicle width.

There are 9 body colours on offer, of which 3 of them are new; Platinum Bronze, Tokyo Red and Earth Bronze.

In terms of safety, the new Corolla Altis will feature Toyota Safety Sense across its model range to help prevent or to mitigate collisions across a wide range of traffic situations by processing information provided by a compact, windscreen head-mounted unit housing both a laser and a camera.

Toyota Safety Sense incorporates a Pre-Collision System (PCS), Lane Departure Alert (LDA), Road Sign Assist (RSA) and Automatic High Beam (AHB). Thanks to the system reducing the risk of being involved in traffic accidents, drivers of the new Corolla may benefit from lower insurance costs or more advantageous insurance reclassification.

The new Corolla goes on sale throughout Europe in June this year.
