Porsche is issuing a recall for 409,477 Cayenne models worldwide from model years 2011 to 2016 for a precautionary inspection. The reason for this is a clip may have become dislodged from the pedal bracket.
The company are implementing a recall to inspect all Cayenne vehicles built during that period to ensure the clip is present and to re-install it if necessary. The problem was identified during internal inspections and remedied in production.
Porsche says that this recall is a purely precautionary measure, as there have been no reports of accidents or injuries as a result of this concern.
UPDATE: Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP) has informed AF that a total of 1,000 Cayennes (2010 to Jan 2016 models) are affected in Malaysia in this recall, and that they are already in the midst of contacting its owners for the precautionary check, which takes less than half an hour.
In totality, 88,300 units are in the United States and 10,370 units are in Canada.
