Proton is set to unveil the 2016 Proton Perdana in the first quarter of this year and to anticipate its arrival, the local automaker has finally released the official specifications for its top-spec 2.4-litre model.
This latest D-Segment sedan is around 1,845 mm wide, 5,020 mm long and 1,475 mm tall. It has a long wheelbase of 2,800 mm while its overall weight is 1,535kg.
From the pre-launch brochure above, the 2.4 model will receive headlamps with DLR, Bodykit with Spoiler, Park Assist (Reverse Camera + Front and Rear Sensor), Touchscreen GPS Navigation, Dual Zone automatic air conditioning, 8-Way Power Driver Seat and Touch Screen Audio System as standard feature. In terms of safety, the Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) and Electronic Stability Control (ESC) are available as standard fitment.
As expected, the 2016 Proton Perdana will feature Honda engines where the top-spec variant will be fitted with an i-VTEC 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine producing 178 hp at 6,500 rpm and 222 Nm of torque at 4,300 rpm. The DOHC 16-valve motor is mated to a 5-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters. At launch, the 2.0-litre engine will also be offered though the specification details for the 2.0 spec model has yet to be released.
In terms of colour choices, the 2016 Proton Perdana 2.4 will be offered in Graphite Grey, Sterling Silver, Ruby Red, Cotton White, Midnight Black and Citrine Gold.
The 2016 Proton Perdana is now open for booking with an estimated price between RM100k and RM150k. Do expect more details on this new sedan to be announced leading up to its debut which will eventually happen very soon!
