It appears that photos of the new 2016 Proton Perdana has leaked ahead of its slated official debut, which is said to happen next month.
Thanks to the folks over at Automachi, we now have a proper look at the Honda Accord-based Proton Perdana for the first time ever.
Up front, the new Proton Perdana features a large chrome grille that connect both projector headlights. From the details we’ve gathered, this particular variant pictured here is the range-topping 2.4 variant, which we believe, are fitted with HID Xenon headlights. The 2.0 model will receive halogen projector headlights, while LED daytime running lights are standard across the range.
Moving to the rear, Proton has redesigned the Accord’s rear end, now with a significantly larger C-pillars at the rear. The rear lights have previously been previewed by the Kapsul movie, and it appears that Proton has reworked the final design, albeit with minor updates. While the car in the movie had a large chrome strip that ran across the rear boot, it appears that the production-ready version will have slimmer chrome inserts in the rear lights. The rear bumper design appears to be largely identical to the one from the movie, with the two reflectors surrounded by chrome inserts at the bottom.
Inside, we can see that this particular Perdana sports a beige interior, similar to the one spied here. The interior is mostly carried over from the eighth-generation Honda Accord, though Proton has updated the Perdana’s infotainment system with a larger touch screen display.
From what we have heard, the 2016 Proton Perdana could be launched officially in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for that!
