In conjunction with the upcoming Chinese New Year holidays, Litrak Group has announced toll discount for motorists using LDP and SPRINT highway to lessen the burden of Malaysians during this festive seasons.
The respective 60 cent and 20 cent discounted toll rate will be given to Lebuhraya Damansara-Puchong (LDP) and SPRINT highway users starting from 12.00 am to 11.59 pm on 8th of February 2016.
This initiative was first introduced by Litrak Group in 2010 and has been carried out since, in hope that move taken shall benefit its highways users and at the same time, serve as a platform to share the joy of celebrating festive seasons in Malaysia, regardless of race and ethnicity. Previous discounted toll rates were also given during major festive seasons, including Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Deepavali, Merdeka Day and Christmas. Since 2010 until 2015, a total amount of RM 8.5 mil toll subsidy was given to 14 million LDP and SPRINT users during major festive period.
It is estimated for the upcoming Chinese New Year, almost RM 202,000 subsidized toll discount amount that will be given to 424 thousand LDP and SPRINT users.
Aside from that, Litrak Group also announced the implementation of full Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) at Lebuhraya SPRINT starting March 2016 and followed by Lebuhraya Damansara-Puchong (LDP) on September 2016.
According to En. Sazally Bin Saidi, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Litrak Group, “The penetration rate of ETC usage had increased drastically from 65% to 80% in the recent years (2012 – 2015) on SPRINT highway, whereas LDP saw an increase of 59% to 73% ETC usage. Most users opt for electronic mode of payment as it is easier and faster. Through a study conducted, it is estimated that the transaction time for Touch ‘n Go and SmartTAG mode of payments are of 6 secs and 3 secs per vehicle respectively.”
