At a recent Ford event, we spotted the yet-to-be launched Ford Focus facelift at their new dealership. The sighting of the new Focus is an indication that the launch is just around the corner.
This particular variant is called Sport Plus, powered by a 1.5-litre EcoBoost engine. While the engine capacity may seem small, it does offer an impressive 177 hp and 240 Nm of torque. Apart from the new engine, the facelifted also gains a new transmission, in the form of a six-speed SelectShift torque converter automatic. The new 1.5-litre mill effectively replaces the old model’s 2.0-litre engine.
Outside, this particular model sports an all-round bodykit, including a rear spoiler. Wheel size is 17-inches, wrapped with 215/50R17 rubbers all round. This particular shade of red is called Candy Red.
Peeking inside, it appears that this particular Ford Focus is equipped with the new Ford SYNC 2 infotainment system. The new SYNC 2 system has less buttons than the outgoing system, easing navigating around the system. The old LCD display has been ditched in favour of a larger 8-inch touchscreen unit. The Ford SYNC 2 also allows the driver to issue voice command to the system. The Ford Focus Sport Plus also gets full leather upholstery inside.
