Motor Image Malaysia, the exclusive distributor of Subaru vehicles here has announced a raft of modifications and upgrades to its XV compact crossover.
Drivers are increasingly seeking vehicles that are tech-savvy, safe and efficient yet versatile and stylish enough to complement their active lifestyles, which is driving a surge in the trend towards compact SUVs and crossovers globally. With the refreshed Subaru XV, the company is confident that it will deliver enhanced value-for-money to customers.
On the outside, the all-new Subaru XV features Subaru’s unique hexagon grille and C-shaped headlights, coupled with sharper contour lines running along the front bumper, fog-lights and tail-lights. A new rear combination lamp and 17-inch sport rims complete the sportier and sleeker exterior styling.
Interior aesthetics have also been enhanced with a stylish premium cluster display to greet the driver upon entering the car, alongside leather wrapped seats and leather shift boot. The interior design now has a higher-quality look and feel thanks to adoption of orange stitching finish and a redesigned steering wheel for a comfortable grip.
With the refreshed Subaru XV, buyers will be able to enjoy an enhanced infotainment system and technologies such as premium multi-function display, push start and smart entry, as well as features such as aluminium pedals and electric driver seat that comes as standard equipment for the 2.oi-P variant.
Beyond that, the engineering team at Subaru has also made further enhancements to reduce wind and road noise. The seal between the front and rear window glass and the weather strip has been improved while and insulator has been added inside the A and D pillar trim, the rear wheel arch and the roof trim.
The all-new Subaru XV is powered by the familiar 2.0-litre 4-cylinder Horizontally-Opposed Boxer Engine with a total output of 150 PS an 196 Nm of torque. Power is sent to Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel-drive system via the Lineartronic CVT with six virtual ratios.
Safety is the core of every Subaru vehicle. With Symmetrical AWD, combined with Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system, the Subaru XV’s handling remains nimble and smooth, regardless of the conditions of the road. Apart from that, the compact crossover also comes with Dual SRS front airbags, driver knee airbag, Brake Assist, ISOFIX child seat mounts and ABS with Electronic Brake-Force Distribution as standard feature.
Available in two variants; 2.0i and 2.0i-Premium, the MY16 Subaru XV now retails at RM132,000 and RM137,000 respectively (inclusive GST, insurance, registration fee and road tax). Customers will have six colours to choose from, namely Pure White, Ice Silver Metallic, Desert Khaki, Tangerine Orange Pearl, Dark Grey Metallic and Obsidian Black Pearl.
