Formula 1 driver, Max Verstappen decided to take driving challenges to the next level as he recently took a Red Bull F1 show car for a spin on a specially-designed section of the famous Streif ski course in Kitzbuhel, Austria.

The F1 car was flown onto the mountain by a helicopter, and fitted it is with studded tyres and snow chains. The engine technicians changed the engine map to make it more driveable in order to have more control with the throttle.

“We have an 800 horsepower rear wheel drive car, which obviously on snow is very challenging for the driver. But really apart from the software changes, there aren’t a lot of changes we can make,” said one of Red Bull’s team members.

With this excellent driving skills, Verstappen dazzled onlookers at the location, with a flurry of drive-bys and donuts. “It was really cool and was so much fun,” Verstappen said. “Keeping the car on the track was a real challenge.”

Dr Helmut Marko, a former driver who serves as an advisor to the Red Bull F1 Team, said it was another example of Red Bull pushing the boundaries. “We don’t think about why things aren’t happening, but rather how they can happen,” Marko said.

“Since I’ve been at Red Bull, I am hardly surprised about anything anymore, but this show run today was quite something,”
