If you’re a huge fan of Ford’s hot hatches as we are, this may come as a good news, as the first all-new Focus RS has just rolled off the line in Saarlouis, Germany.
Debuted at the New York Auto Show last year, the new Focus RS is one of 12 performance vehicles Ford will bring to customers globally through 2020.
As a quick refresher, the Focus RS powered by a specially engineered version of Ford’s new 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine that churns out 350hp and 474Nm of torque. It is connected to a six-speed manual transmission and all-wheel drive system with dynamic torque vectoring function. Ford claims that its 4.7-second 0-100km/h sprint makes it the fastest-accelerating Ford RS model ever.
For the first time, the RS model gets selectable drive modes – including industry-first Drift Mode that has an ability to channel as much as 70% of available power to the rear, and from there up to 100% of that to one side. Combined with a stability control system that allows for true hooligan antics, Drift Mode should be a riot!
As the production line has already commenced, buyers in Europe and America will be able to take delivery of their hot pocket rocket in Spring this year.
