Naza Kia Malaysia, the official distributor of KIA vehicles in Malaysia, has launched the All-New Rio Sedan. The Rio Sedan was first previewed at the ASEAN Auto Show 2015.
“The Rio has consistently been the world’s number one bestselling Kia having sold over 2,000,000 vehicles sold since its global introduction and it is no different here in Malaysia. Its striking modern design, impressive levels of safety and intelligent use of space has made it critical and commercial success locally. With a sales target of 1,403 units, we expect the Rio Sedan to contribute significantly to Naza Kia Malaysia’s sales performance in 2016 of 6,107 units total sales,” said Dato’ Samson Anand George, Group Chief Operating Officer, Automotive Group, Naza Corporation Holdings.
The Rio Sedan utilizes a tilt and telescopic steering wheel with audio remote control, Bluetooth, an audio system connected to six speakers with tweeter as well as an infotainment system with radio, USB, Bluetooth, AUX and a built-in 800 MB storage.
Other features include a trip computer that enhances the overall ambiance of the car, immobilizer and a 15-inch alloy wheel with a full sized spare tire. The Rio Sedan also features 60:40 back seat recline, 389 litre trunk space and 35% extra boot space.
A Kia 1.4 MPI CVVT engine which produces 109 PS and 137 Nm of torque is the only engine choice, and is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. The front suspension up front are MacPherson struts while the rear suspension is a couple torsion beam axle. In addition, the All-New Rio Sedan is fitted with a motor-driven power steering (MDPS) that saves fuel consumption by 3% by eliminating hydraulics in favour of an electrically-driven motor.
The Kia Rio Sedan comes packed with class-leading safety features designed for maximum protection for its occupants. Some of the prominent safety features are the four-disc brakes, anti-lock brake system (ABS), tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and electronic stability control (ESC). The Rio Sedan is also equipped with a vehicle stability management (VSM), a hill-start assist control (HAC) and rear parking sensor. Other features include six airbags, High-Strength Steel, ISOFIX, power windows and door locks along with keyless entry.
Available in Bright Silver, Signal Red, Deep Blue and Clear White, the Kia Rio Sedan is priced at RM72,888. Buyers of the Rio Sedan will be backed by a five years warranty with unlimited mileage.
