Imagine buying a £50,000 BMW M3 and later finding out that it was previously hooned on a track by ex-Top Gear presenter, Jeremy Clarkson. One can either enjoy knowing that it was driven around a track, or you could end up like Rob Willis.
When Mr Willis bought it from a BMW dealer, he was told that the BMW M3 was an ex-demo car that one of the managers was driving. Issues with his BMW M3 includes squeaky brakes and the clanking noise the steering makes every time he came off the motorway.
Then he saw an episode of Top Gear with Clarkson sliding around the track. In his BMW.
“You could see smoke coming out from the wheels, he was taking the curves that fast.” he said.
Mr Willis was then given a BMW 330d as a replacement car, plus a bunch of freebies from the said BMW dealer. It has been reported that Mr Willis is satisfied.
The dealer mentioned that the car should have not been sold as it was unfit for road driving.
