The world’s oldest Pagani Zonda, fondly known as ‘La Nonna’, Italian for Grandmother, has been lovingly restored in time for Horacio Pagani’s 60th birthday.
La Nonna started life with a 6.0-litre V12 M120 with 388 horsepower, enough to get the original Zonda C12 to 330 km/h. But Pagani had plans for La Nonna, as further down its life, the car was updated to the C12-S 7.0 specification. Over time, this Zonda was used to develop hardware for all models, except the R.
Thus far, La Nonna has covered well over 1 million kilometers, with parts carefully restored back to its original configuration, including the silver paint and red interior. The rims were lifted off a Zonda Cinque.
Apart from that, this particular Zonda sports the Italian flag across the centre of the supercar, and is currently on display at Pagani’s old factory showroom. La Nonna is perhaps one of the longest surviving prototype vehicle, as most of them ends up in a crusher.
