In less than two months after making its world premier, BMW’s fastest production car ever, the M4 GTS special edition has reached sold out status!
As mentioned in our previous post, BMW will make only 700 units of the hardcore M4 Coupe and all of them have already been spoken for, despite a hefty price tag of €142,600 (RM635,562 in Germany). That’s almost double than a regular M4 in its domestic market and anxious buyers will have to fork out an extra cash for the optional Clubsport Package containing a fire extinguisher, six-point harness, and an Acid Orange roll bar.
Out of 700 units, 300 units are reserved for the US market, 30 for UK, and only 4 cars are heading to The Netherlands according to Dutch newspaper Telegraaf.nl.
Under its skin lies an upgraded 6-cylinder, 3.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine benefitting from water injection technology that raises the engine’s output to 500hp and 600 Nm of torque channeled to the rear wheels exclusively via a 7-speed M DCT. Thanks to this hardware arrangement and a 62 kg weight loss compared to the regular M4 Coupe, the M4 GTS will hit 0-100 km/h from a standstill in 3.8 seconds before topping out at 305 km/h.
Malaysian enthusiasts are probably tearing now knowing that they may not have a chance to see the M4 GTS on our local streets, considering the fact that it is all being allocated for. The M4 GTS goes into production in March 2016, and is expected to launch in June 2016.
