Land Rover has unveiled its first luxury compact convertible SUV, in the form of the new Evoque Convertible! The new convertible SUV will be available in two trim levels.
The new Evoque Convertible is based on Range Rover’s successful three-door variant Evoque, with the roof chopped off. The topless Evoque also features larger air intakes up front, while the HSE Dynamic variant gets slimline LED fog lights, body-coloured side skirts to visually lower the vehicle and a dynamic rear bumper that houses distinctive twin exhaust outlets.
Buyers of the Range Rover Evoque Convertible will get a selection of six different alloy wheel designs and finishes, ranging from 18- to 20-inches. Unique for the 20-inch alloy wheels are two premium finishes, Polished and Satin Black.
The cloth roof takes 21 seconds to raise, 18 seconds to be stowed away, with vehicle speeds of up to 50 km/h.
SE Dynamic variant includes exterior trim details including fender, grille and fog light surrounds appointed with a Brunel Silver finish. HSE Dynamic models receive components finished in premium Narvik Black and gloss-black hood vents for a more purposeful appearance.
Buyers from North America will get the option of a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine, good for 240 horsepower and 340 Nm of torque. The Evoque Convertible also benefits from a nine-speed ZF automatic transmission. Those across the pond will get an option of a 2.0-liter TD4 Ingenium diesel with 178 horsepower.
The debut of the Evoque Convertible also sees the new availability of the Land Rover InControl Touch Pro infotainment system which features a 10.2-inch capacitive touch-screen with a 21:9 super-wide format. The new infotainment system also boasts a Solid State Drive (SSD) for quicker response time than traditional hard drives.
Prices start from $50,475 (RM211,957 before tax). Could this convertible Evoque land here in Malaysia as a niche model from Land Rover Malaysia? Well, time will tell.
