Audi Malaysia has just launched the hotter Audi TTS, less than six months after the arrival of the all-new third generation Audi TT.
Isaac Lee Mathew, Head of Corporate Communications for Audi Malaysia said, “A sports coupé not for the faint-hearted, the new Audi TTS takes the iconic TT coupé’s already impressive performance, design and technology and amplifies it for a sports car that is faster, sportier and even more progressive than before, in line with our ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’ ethos. The introduction of the Audi TTS marks a milestone in our mission to offer the full range of vehicles that epitomize the sporting intent and performance heritage of Audi right here in Malaysia.”
Powering the hotter Audi TTS is a 2.0-litre TFSI four cylinder engine with direct fuel injection and exhaust gas turbocharging, which produces 286 hp and a maximum torque of 380 Nm between 1,800 and 5,200 rpm. Audi Malaysia is offering the TTS with a 6-speed S-tronic transmission. Coupled with Audi’s quattro system, the TTS is able to sprint from standstill to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds, before reaching an electronically-limited top speed of 250 km/h.
Mind you, the Audi TTS is more than just an increase of power over the regular TT, as Audi engineers have re-engineered various components of the TTS, including installation of reinforced aluminium pistons, connecting rods, bearings and crankcases, the addition of a larger turbocharger with a maximum charge pressure of up to 1.2 bar and a capacity of up to 1,000 kg of air per hour, as well as a high-performance air-to-air intercooler.
Safety wise, the Audi TTS comes with Electronic Stabilisation Control (ESC) which includes Traction Control (ASR), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Electronic Differential Lock (EDL) and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and a total of six airbags.
Inside, drivers of the Audi TTS will appreciate the electrically adjustable S sport front seats, TTS sports contour leather-covered steering wheel with multifunction plus and shift paddles, matte brushed aluminium inlays, “S” badge scuff plates in both door apertures and an innovative honeycomb-like laser texture for the dashboard for an unrivalled sporty appeal.
Audi Malaysia is offering the new Audi TTS in eleven colour choices, namely Glacier White, Scuba Blue, Tango Red, Floret Silver, Monsoon Grey, Nano Grey, Brilliant Black, Mythos Black and Daytona Grey with pearl effect, along with TTS-exclusive colours, Vegas Yellow and Sepang Blue with pearl effect.
The new car can be viewed at all authorised Audi dealerships nationwide from today onwards, with prices starting from RM 389,900.
