Eurotech Wheel has officially launched their first 1,000 cc KTM bike in Malaysia, called the KTM 1050 Adventure. The new model will join Eurotech Wheels’ existing line up which consists of the Duke family of 200 cc, 250 cc, 390 cc and 690 cc as well as the RC family of 200 cc, 250 cc and 390 cc.
Speaking at the launch event was Mr. Gianluca Lozzi, General Manager South East Asia, KTM Sportmotorcycle GMBH. He said, “With the KTM 1050 ADVENTURE, we guarantee that every ride is an adventure. KTM has always evolved to offer the best in recreational riding with exceptional quality and superb handling and performance.”
KTM is Europe’s largest bike manufacturer, and back home, it is the largest European bike brand. The introduction of KTM to Malaysia has not only brought joy to bikers but has also contributed to the development of the Malaysian automotive sector.
The new KTM 1050 Adventure is powered by a 1,050 cc 75-degree V-Twin engine which pushes out 75 hp and 107 Nm of torque. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a six-speed gearbox fitted with a PASC slipper clutch.
Holding the bike together is a chromium-molybdenum steel trellis frame paired to upside-down 43 mm WP front fork and rear monotube. The seat is 850 mm off the ground, and riders can adjust the windshield by another 25 mm. Further adjustability includes the front handlebar, which offers 20 mm of adjustment and foot pegs, with 10 mm of diagonal adjustment.
Disengageable traction control and three ride modes, namely Street, Sport and Rain are available on the KTM 1050 Adventure. Buyers can also opt to have off-road mode if needed. Stopping power comes from strong Brembo brakes and ABS.
Mr Lozzi concluded by saying, “A final announcement today is that we have changed our name to reflect the chang-ing times and the growth of biking and of the KTM brand in Malaysia. Effective this minute we will be know simply as KTM Malaysia.”
The fully-imported KTM 1050 Adventure will have a basic retail price of RM77,888.
