Volkswagen Group Malaysia today announced changes to its senior management to address and capitalize on the significant growth of the ASEAN and Malaysian markets for Volkswagen AG. The planned rotation of the current senior management team will utilize their expertise to support the rapid growth in these strategic markets.
The announcement was made by Weiming Soh, Executive Vice President, Volkswagen AG and President, Commercial Operations, Greater China/ASEAN. He said “It is crucial for us to have the right people in the right positions at the right time. Therefore, this announcement is part of our senior management rotation programme to accelerate our growth in Malaysia.”
Dr Zeno Kerschbaumer, who is a member of the top management of Volkswagen AG and currently heads Volkswagen Group Malaysia will be assuming another top management position within the Asia Pacific region where his extensive experience is required. In 2013, he laid the foundation for Volkswagen Group Malaysia’s long-term growth.
Taking over as Managing Director of Volkswagen Group Malaysia is Christoph Aringer, effective 1st February 2014. Previously, he was the Head of Porsche Holdings in China and with 25 years of international automotive experience with particular expertise in retail, he will lead the senior management team at Volkswagen Group Malaysia. He will be supported by the existing senior management team along with the following new directors:
- Peter Miling as the new Director, Network Development & Training, effective 1st February 2014 (formerly Director, Volkswagen Group Network in China),
- Robert McAllister as the new Director, Strategy & Planning, effective 1st February 2014 (formerly Head of Planning of Skoda China)
- Kamarul Zaman Bin Abdul Aziz as the new Director, Public Affairs & Business Development (formerly Director, Network Development & Training), effective 1st February 2014
- Annette Pech as the new Director, Finance & IT, effective 1st March 2014 (formerly Head of Finance, Volkswagen India, Pune Factory)
Weiming Soh further said, “With these leadership changes, Volkswagen Group Malaysia is poised for the next level of strategic growth in terms of network, sales and customer satisfaction.”
