Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) the official distributor of Mitsubishi Motors vehicles in Malaysia, announced today that the local assemble Mitsubishi ASX is now open for bookings at all Mitsubishi showrooms nationwide ahead of its official line-off ceremony later this month. The stylish designed urban compact SUV offers two mobility 2WD and 4WD.
“MMM is proud to announce that the locally assembled ASX is now open for bookings. The new ASX CKD comes with a more affordable price tag to cater for the market demands of an affordable mid-sized SUV. This is part of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation’s (MMC) business expansion strategy in emerging markets,” said Tetsuya Oda, Chief Executive Officer of Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia.
He added, “All cars produced by Mitsubishi Motors worldwide are governed by high quality standard set by Mitsubishi Motors which ensures consistent quality level of all Mitsubishi cars. This means the cars that are locally assembled will have the same quality level with models assembled in Japan.”
Both variants are equipped with Auto Rain & Light Sensor, leather seats, GPS Navigation System, Front & Rear Parking Sensors with Reverse camera, Automatic Air Conditioner and High Contrast Speedometer.
The 4WD variant is further packaged with more equipment’s such as Panoramic roof, Paddle Shifters, Push Start Button and Security Window Tint.
Prices start from RM114, 269.50 for the 2WD and RM128, 879.50 for the 4WD variant on-the-road without insurance. The CKD (Complete-knocked-down) ASX is available in Black Mica, Titanium Grey, Cool Silver and Solid White and comes with a warranty of 5 years unlimited mileage.
Powered by a modern 2.0 -litre MIVEC engine with 150 PS of power and 197 Nm of torque, the Malaysian built ASX is engineered for exceptional fuel efficiency of 13.2km/l* (*Figure is based on Paultan.org real world combined driving conditions) The 2.0-litre engine is teamed with INVECS- III CVT (Continuous Variable Transmission) featuring Sports Mode, tuned to deliver effortless acceleration from any speed. Sports mode offers all the sporty control of manual shifting without the hassle of a clutch.
The Mitsubishi ASX is an easy handling mid-size SUV that fits perfectly in the city with excellent maneuverability and a class leading turning radius of 5.3 meters, the best turning radius in its class.
Both variants come with safety features such as dual airbags and Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD).
The 4WD variant comes with Hill Start Assist (HSA) to make it an easy start off on a steep uphill slope by preventing the vehicle from rolling backwards, Traction Control Function and Active Stability Control (ASC) which uses onboard sensors to analyse the vehicle’s motion and identify lateral wheel slippage.
Current line-up of vehicles include the Mirage compact hatchback, Lancer GT, ASX mid-sized SUV, Triton pick-up trucks, Pajero Sport and Pajero Exceed SUVs, electric car i-MiEV and the newly launched Attrage compact sedan.
