Subaru together with the Subaru XV Club recently collaborated to hold the first ever TC Subaru Charity Drive to surprise and delight the kids from Shelter Home for Children. The event saw more than 42 Subaru XV owners with a total of 22 XV units in convoy, taking 58 children from the orphanage to a fun-filled day of adventure in Kuala Lumpur.
The Subaru XV Club in Malaysia consists of a group of car enthusiasts and XV owners who are passionate about holding independent events such as off-road adventures, weekend drives and motor-related social gatherings to provide opportunities for members to interact and share their love for the Subaru XV. This time around, they took their passion to a whole new level by channelling their time to spend their weekend for a worthwhile cause. The car club chose to spread joy and adventure – the very essence of XV – to the kids of the orphanage, Shelter Home for Children.
Setting off from Petaling Jaya, where the orphanage is located, the convoy took the kids to Aquaria in KLCC for a whole day of fun and learning with their fellow children where they enjoyed sea-life gallery and activities such as touring the amazing Oceanarium, an underwater tunnel featuring actual life in the ocean, watching live feeding shows, educational workshops, interactive activities and ocean conservation films.
Subaru believes that it is important to give back to the community and in this case, touch the hearts and imagination of children – the leaders of tomorrow’s innovations.
