It appears that the BMW M3 has been dethroned by the new Alfa Romeo Giulia QV on the Nurburgring, with an unofficial lap time of 7:43!
With a lap time of 7:43, the Alfa Romeo Giulia QV laps the Nurburgring quicker than the Audi R8 V10, Pagani Zonda S, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG and the BMW M3! Yes, right out of the box, the Alfa Romeo Giulia QV is very capable. But do take the results with some salt, as the results are currently unofficial.
The Alfa Romeo Giulia is a rear-wheel-drive four door sedan that will be competing against the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and BMW 3-Series. In the Quadrifoglio Verde trim, the Giulia packs a Ferrari-inspired turbocharged V6 which pumps out 510hp. Coupled with a 6-speed manual transmission, the Giulia QV can hit 100 km/h from standstill in just 3.9 seconds!
Other highlights include a perfect weight distribution of 50/50, multilink rear suspension and a unique front double wishbone suspension set up for optimum handling. Alfa Romeo has also utilized a mix of carbon fibre, aluminium, plastic and aluminium composite materials during the construction of the Giulia.
