Following the official debut of the 2016 Honda Accord facelift sedan, the Japanese automaker has decided to release the official photos of the refreshed Accord Coupe, which has received similar updates.
As expected, the Honda Accord Coupe gets a subtly refreshed exterior, more precise ride and handling, a quieter cabin as well as increased fuel efficiency. Styling-wise, the Coupe features restyled front and rear bumpers, a new grille, new taillight designs, as well as new aluminum wheels for all models and trims. Other changes include the addition of sleeker, LED daytime running lights and LED fog lights.
The Accord Coupe also shares 7 exterior colours with the sedan, but is also available in 2 exclusive hues namely, Deep Blue Opal Metallic and Still Night Pearl. Just like the sedan, the interior of the Honda Accord Coupe gets a new glossy piano black interior trim for the LX-S model, while all versions now have a new meter design. There’s a fresh metal-style dashboard trim on the Accord Coupe EX along with standard rearview camera and a 7-inch Display Audio interface with support for Android Auto and CarPlay.
The Honda Accord Coupe is offered with the same powertrains as the sedan, a direct-injected (DI) 2.4-litre inline 4-cylinder engine, and a 3.5-litre V6. Available transmissions include a sporty and fuel-efficient continuously variable transmission (CVT) for the 4-cylinder engines, 6-speed manuals for the 4-cylinder and V-6 engines, and a 6-speed automatic for V-6 models.
The base 2.4-litre direct-injected i-VTEC engine produces 185hp at 6,400 rpm and 245Nm of torque at 3,900 rpm, while the 3.5-litre V6 delivers 278hp at 6,200 rpm and 341Nm of torque at 4,900 rpm. V6 models equipped with the 6-speed automatic transmission also feature the Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) system.
Technical upgrades for the coupe include chassis upgrades consisting of higher performance dampers, retuned electric power steering and, on Touring models, new Amplitude Reactive Dampers and hydraulic subframe bushings to deliver even more responsive steering and handling together with a more refined ride quality.
