Suzuki will be debuting a production version of the iK-2 Concept, which will be called the Suzuki Baleno. The new Suzuki Baleno will not be replacing the Swift, however.
The Suzuki Baleno will be riding on Suzuki’s new platform, with power coming from a 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbocharged engine. According to Suzuki, the new Baleno will have a “styling design, a spacious interior and new technologies”.
Compared to the Swift, the Baleno will be significantly longer and wider, which hopefully, will improve interior space. The 211-litres of bootspace in the Swift is rather abysmal when compared to its rivals, something the Baleno should solve. The Suzuki Baleno will be positioned as a slightly larger B-segment hatchback.
Stay tuned for more details as the Suzuki Baleno will debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show next month!
