Singapore’s Bukit Timah Expressway rained RM50 notes!

Singapore's Bukit Timah Expressway rained RM50 notes

The authorities were puzzled to find RM50 notes worth RM150,000 that were left scattered along the Bukit Timah Expressway in Singapore.

According to a Singaporean paper Shin Min Daily News, the incident happened on Monday evening (3rd August), at around 6pm, on the BKE stretch towards Changi before Mandai Road. This caused slow traffic as motorists were seen parking by the side of the road to pick up the Malaysian ringgit notes.

The money is said to have belonged to a money changer from Johor Baru who was on his way to meet a client in Orchard Road, Singapore. The 24-year-old, who was riding a motorcycle, did not realise that the bag carrying the money was not zipped.

By the time he reached the destination, he only managed to retrieve a single RM50 note! The money changer apparently did not make a big deal of the incident and he was quoted as saying that it was a good lesson for him.
