After its debut in January, Ford has been continuously teasing the Shelby GT350R. They have also mentioned that the new Shelby managed to lap the Nurburgring in just 7:32:19.
Featuring Ford’s first-ever flat plane V8, the Shelby GT350R features a redline of 8,250 rpm, higher than any other production Ford Mustang. The new V8 delivers 526 hp and 581 Nm of torque, which goes through a 6-speed manual to the rear wheels via a new Ford-designed Torsen limited slip differential.
Handling wise, the Shelby GT350R features revised spring rates and anti-roll bars, a lower ride height, unique track-tuned alignment settings, revised bushings and jounce bumpers, cross-axis ball joints in the front suspension, and revised calibration controlling the MagneRide dampers.
The lucky folks over at the Automobile magazine managed to go for a few laps in the new Shelby GT350R, and boy does it sound brutal!
