Toyota is set to launch the new 2015 Toyota Avanza Veloz at this year’s GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS). These photos should provide us with a decent look at the new Avanza Veloz, courtesy of autonetzmag.net.
Despite being relatively low res, the shots do provide a closer look at the Veloz variant, which is the Avanza that we have locally. In line with current Toyota design language, the Avanza Veloz has a large trapezoid shaped lower air dam, with a pair of redesigned headlights. Chrome trim can be found on the front grille, which connects both headlights. Not much has changed on the rear end, and looks largely similar to our outgoing Avanza.
According to the source, the Toyota Avanza Veloz will now get Toyota’s Dual-VVTi range of engines, just like the Corolla Altis. No power figures were provided, but the new engines should provide the Avanza with better fuel economy. Indonesian variants will get both a 1.3- and 1.5-litre variant, while our local variant gets the 1.5-litre unit.
Moving inside, the facelifted Avanza Veloz has a slightly revised interior. A new touchscreen headunit can be found in the dashboard, while the gear lever surround has also been revised. The rest of the interior remains identical to the pre-facelift model.
