KTM Malaysia CKD has just launched a pair of 250 cc bikes, called the RC 250 and 250 Duke at their flagship KTM Lifestyle Showroom in Kota Damansara. The duo will compete against their Japanese rivals in the 250 cc segment.
The KTM RC 250 and 250 Duke made a global debut a few months ago in Japan, and is now locally-assembled at KTM Malaysia CKD’s plant in Kedah. The duo shares a lot of parts with its bigger siblings, including the signature orange steel trellis frame, front and rear shocks, cool digital instrument cluster and Bybre brakes.
Power for both bikes come from a 248.8 cc single cylinder four-stroke engine with 31.3 horsepower at 9,000 rpm and 24 Nm of torque at 7,250 rpm. The six speed transmission comes with an anti-hopping wet multi-disc clutch. Both the bikes also come with ABS, courtesy of Bosch.
Prices start from just RM17,888 for the KTM Duke 250, while the KTM RC 250 will cost RM18,888. Both prices are nett selling prices and do not include GST, road tax and insurance. KTM Malaysia CKD plans to shift 250 to 300 units of the Duke 250 per month, and between 150 to 200 units of the RC 250 in a month.
The duo can also be fitted with optional KTM Powerparts.
