Having launched the hybrid variant of the Grace last year, Honda has begun sales of the petrol variant called the Grace LX. Looks familiar? Because the Honda Grace LX is the Honda City that we have here, but with a twist.

The biggest difference between the Japanese Honda Grace and our local Honda City is perhaps the engine that powers both cars. Our Honda City is powered by Honda’s tried-and-tested 1.5-litre SOHC i-VTEC engine, while the Japanese twin gets a 1.5-liter direct injection DOHC i-VTEC. Honda claims that the Grace LX makes a total of 132 PS, a healthy increase of 12 PS over our non-direct injected variant.

Like our Honda City, the Honda Grace LX features a CVT , which Honda says is able to deliver excellent fuel economy of 21.8km/liter (Japan JC08 mode). It is also worth noting that the Honda Grace LX also comes with the option of a AWD system, while regular variants are front wheel drive.

Exterior wise, the Honda Grace LX will get a unique colour called Premium Crystal Red Metallic, which is only available on the petrol variant. Other exterior details include automatic retractable side mirrors, chrome door handles and steel wheels with covers.

Inside the Honda Grace LX, passengers can enjoy the fully-automatic air conditioning system with Sharp’s Plasmacluster technology. The steering wheel is leather wrapped, and for those with special needs, a variant of the Honda Grace LX features a rotating front passenger seat.
