Looks can be deceiving. Remember the China made copycat Range Rover Evoque we featured in the past called Landwind X17? Well, recently a new SUV called Zotye T700 was spotted in China, and it looks almost identical to the Porsche Macan!

This doppelganger model is built by Zotye Automobile, a local Chinese automaker with quite some expertise in copying cars. According to the Car New China, the Zotye T700 will be launched on the Chinese car market in 2016.

Take a look at both the Zotye T700 and our Porsche Macan pictures below, they look so similar it’s almost difficult to tell the difference between these two!

Right down from the grille, the bumpers, the air inlets, the shape of the roof, the mirrors, and even the shape of the door handles looks the same. Zotye also did not forget the strip on the low-end of the doors, and made it more shiny with a lot of chrome slapped into it. The only difference we can identify is the shape of the headlights, taillights, twin exhaust as well as the Zotye ‘Z’ logo on the bonnet.

The Zotye T700 is the new flagship for the Zotye SUV line. It will be positioned above the current Zotye T600, the upcoming Zotye T600 Sport, and the upcoming Zotye T600S. Under the hood, power is supplied by a 177hp 2.0-litre turbo engine while a new 3.0-litre V6 turbo engine is currently under development.

Price for the T700 will start around 170.000 yuan, which is approximately RM102,437 based on current exchange rate.

Well this is not the first time Zotye came up with a copy-cat design. Its T600 is apparently a mixture of the Tiguan and Q5 styling, while the Damai X5 looks almost similar to VW Tiguan. Apart from that, its Z700 has an identical interior with Audi A6, while the Z300 looks like Toyota Allion’s twin.

Well, they say imitation is a form of flattery but in this case, these cars are sold at much more affordable price than then their rivals, so these automakers probably feels more insulted rather than being flattered, just ask Range Rover.
