Volkswagen Malaysia has finally unveiled the Jetta Limited Edition, after previewing the car during their recent luncheon, and teasing it on Facebook. We even managed catch the car in person here.
There will be two variants of the Volkswagen Jetta Limited Edition, with the first being the Jetta Club Edition, and the other is the Jetta Sport Edition. The new Volkswagen Jetta Sport Edition remains largely identical to the regular Jetta, save for some cosmetic upgrades here and there. From the outside, the biggest difference is the addition of the original 5-piece Volkswagen bodykit, which includes a front skirt, side skirts, rear skirt and a boot lid spoiler. Volkswagen Malaysia has also replaced the stock 16-inch Navarra alloy wheels with 17-inch Silex alloy wheels. The new 17-inch wheels are wrapped with 225/45/17 Goodyear Assurance TripleMax tyres. The Jetta Club Edition, on the other hand, has no cosmetics upgrades.
Moving inside, both the Jetta Club Edition and Sport Edition now features a new Blaupunkt-derived sound system with integrated navigation, which takes over from the RCD 320 unit on the regular Jetta. The rest of the interior remains identical to the CKD Jetta, including the Climatronic automatic air-conditioning system, cruise control, multi-function steering wheel, Park Distance Control (PDC) and rear air-con vents. The seats are still wrapped in the same Sienna fabric.
Under the hood, the familiar 1.4-litre TSI engine remains the same, with the same power figures as before. Gear shifting duties are taken care by a quick-shifting 7-speed DSG. While 1.4-litres may sound small, the performance figures are actually quite impressive, as the Jetta can complete the century sprint in just 8.3 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 221 km/h.
The Volkswagen Jetta Limited Edition is priced from RM122,888, and is available in three colours, namely Candy White, Platinum Grey and Deep Black. Both variants will be limited to 500 units each, making it properly limited.
