The Honda EX5 Dream is quite possibly one of the best selling cubs ever sold in Malaysia, with over 2 million units sold since its introduction in 1986. Today, Boon Siew Honda has launched the new Honda EX5 Dream FI, which now features Honda’s PGM-FI fuel injection system.
Aesthetics wise, the new Honda EX5 Dream FI sports a new redesigned front headlight with chrome emblem, while the rear light has also been redesigned to ensure better visibility. Apart from that, the meter cluster has also been revised, which improves readability. The exhaust cover now has a chrome finish for a more premium and classic feel.
Powering the Honda EX5 Dream FI is a new fuel-injected 110 cc engine with 6.23 kW at 7,500 rpm and 8.4 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 4 speed automatic gearbox that drives the rear wheel. Boon Siew Honda quotes that the EX5 Dream FI is capable of a fuel consumption of 58.3 km/L, giving its 4.3-litre tank a theoretical range of 250 km.
The new Honda EX5 Dream FI will be available in three colours, namely Euphoria Red Metallic, Vital Blue Metallic and Mariana Purple Metallic. The Honda EX5 Dream FI with the kick starter will cost RM4,299, while the self starter variant will cost RM4,529. Both prices are exclusive of road tax, insurance and GST.
Boon Siew Honda plans to sell a total of 37,200 units a year, backed by the EX5 Dream FI’s attractive price and features.
