The 2014 Formula One calendar has been confirmed by the governing body, the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile ( FIA). There will be only 19 races from all around the globe, and hereby is the notable changes as summarized  below:

– Only one single new track is added which is the Russian Grand Prix in Sochi. Sochi will also be the venue for the 2014 Winter Olympics.

– After in hiatus for a decade, the Austrian Grand Prix will make a return at the A1 Ring.

–  Alongside India, the Korean Grand Prix will be dropped from the calendar. The fate of the Korean Grand Prix was on speculation after the dismal spectator attendance in the 2013’s edition.

–  Two supposed new venues in New Jersey, United States and Mexico, which were added in the earlier provisional calendar, were dropped due to time constraints in preparing the tracks ready to host an F1 race. The two new venues are stated to rejoin in 2015.

– The season starts in Australia on March 16. Malaysia will host on 30th March.

– Bahrain will become the second race after Singapore to host a night race.
