Okay, let us set this straight. We are fully aware that today is April Fool’s day, but this new is legit. Like, totally legit. No, we’re not kidding that a woman did win a brand new BMW 1-Series today!

Tianna Marsh was the first person to respond to the ad that BMW placed on the front page of New Zealand Herald. BMW has been keeping the tradition alive with the ad placement. According to the ad, a new BMW will be given to the first person that took their own car and the coupon to the dealership. Ms Marsh was the first to arrive in her 15 year old Nissan Avenir.

Ms Marsh arrived to the dealership at 5:30 am, and was greeted by Team McMillan BMW sales manager Gavin Penfold, acted dumb when Ms Marsh enquired about the Herald competition. According to the ad, she asked for “Tom”, and was soon an owner to a brand new 1-Series.

Ed Finn, a BMW spokesman said, “This year’s effort, our most audacious and elaborate yet, is one we’re particularly proud of as we believe this reverse April 1 joke to be a world first, especially giving away a brand new car. The ad was intentionally vague and definitely appeared too good to be true, but in this case we wanted to turn the tables and reward the first person who was willing to take the chance.”
