Using the word “Corolla” and “Nürburgring” in the same sentence rarely happens, but Toyota Thailand has decided to prepare a special edition to celebrate the 7th place finish for a Toyota Corolla Altis in its class at last year’s Nürburgring 24-hour endurance race.
Called the Corolla Nürburgring Edition, this limited-run model is based on the ESport version, but adds in new front bumper, a piano-black grille, new 17-inch alloy wheels, a rear spoiler, a diffuser-like element for the rear bumper and stickers of the Nürburgring on the front fenders.
Inside, black leather seats with contrast stitching and red inserts for the dashboard and door trims lend the sedan a sportier look. The ESport Nürburgring edition also features LED headlights.
Power comes from the same 4-cylinder 1.8-litre engine developing 141hp and 177 Nm channeled to the front wheels through a CVT. Set to be offered in either a Black Mica or White Pearl body paint, the Toyota Corolla Nürburgring Edition will also benefit from a revised suspension settings for better handling, through the overall setup is identical to the standard Corolla.
The Toyota Corolla Nürburgring Edition will go on sale on April 1, after being showcased at the 2015 Bangkok Motor Show this week, and it is priced at 959,000 THB (RM108,400) for the White Pearl color and 949,000 THB (RM107,269) for the Black Mica shade.
