Some very vague spyshots of a naked motorcycle in Indonesia has surfaced on the internet recently, some believe it may be Yamaha’s upcoming entry level motorcycle to match with its brothers, the MT-07 and MT-09.
It is believed that the new bike will be powered by a parallel-twin 250 cc or 300 cc DOHC engine. While the engine capacities vary for different markets, the new bike would most likely be named MT-25 or MT-32 as MT-03 has already been used on a previous 660 cc Yamaha motorcycle.
The said spied bike has been codenamed “B04” in an Indonesian motorblog.
This bike could be powered by the same engine as the upcoming, soon-to-be-released in Malaysia YZF-R25 (or YZF-R3 in other markets); which is a parallel-twin (otherwise known as 2-inline) 250 cc fuel injected and liquid cooled DOHC engine which is paired to a six-speed transmission. The said engine is able to produce a whopping 36 hp, which is a lot for a 250 cc engine. The 300 cc engine will be able to churn out about 39 hp.
The Yamaha YZF-R25 will go on sale in April, but the Yamaha’s MT series bikes are also not bad.
