At the recent Tokyo Motorshow 2013, Honda unveiled the new S660 Roadster, but to set the mood right, they brought over the classic S360 that was the inspiration for the new kid on the block. I’d seen this car before at the Honda Museum, coincidentally also parked next to the old F1 car that was brought in for TMS as well.
Apparently both are in working order, which means theoretically they could have been driven to TMS from the Honda Museum, although I doubt that very much, seeing as how the overall restoration cost for this S360 probably resided somewhere between ‘ridiculous’ and ‘absurd’.
Honda also played an old video of the S360 during the presentation, which raised quite a few ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ from the assembled media. Good to know that the classic gene is still alive in the Honda DNA. Well done!
