Following the official reveal of the McLaren P1 GTR and 675LT at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this week, McLaren also gave the clearest view of the highly anticipated Sports Series ahead of its debut at the New York International Auto Show next month.
In the short video below, the Sports Series is shown undergoing extreme cold weather testing, with the new model wearing a striking winter camouflage.
According to McLaren, the Sports Series will complete the range of models when it is launched in April, and will introduce the unique McLaren DNA to the sports car market for the first time with a carbon fibre chassis and a mid-mounted V8 engine which is expected to develop more than 500hp.
No further details were released but we do know that the Sports Series will sit at the bottom of the McLaren range, followed by the 675LT, 650S and Asia-only 625C, and the Ultimate Series, with the McLaren P1 and McLaren P1 GTR.
It is also believed that McLaren’s Sports Series will consist of at least 4 models including coupe, spider, performance coupe and a grand tourer, while a track-only GT3 version is apparently in the pipeline as well.
