With 7,000 bookings in a month, the new Honda HR-V has set the benchmark for Honda Malaysia’s SUV segment. 65% of the bookings were for the Grade V variant, with the Grade S accounted for 15% and the Grade E, 20% of the bookings.
Honda Malaysia has estimated a 4-month waiting period for the HR-V, and they are reviewing their production schedule. At the moment, production is at full speed at the Pegoh, Melaka plant. Honda Malaysia is working hard to revise their production schedule to meet demands, and to reduce waiting times. However, they will not rush their production as quality remains a top priority for them. Honda Malaysia has apologized for the delay in delivery.
For February 2015, Honda Malaysia has also set a new record, with 11,047 bookings and over 6,000 units sold. The Honda HR-V was the main contributor to the growing number, followed by the City and Jazz. They have set a sales target of 85,000 units for 2015, and Honda Malaysia is confident that it will be achieved.
