UMW Toyota Motor, in line with their policy with safety as the top priority for their vehicles, has just introduced an enhanced variant of the Toyota Hiace. The enhanced Toyota Hiace will now come with Active Safety features as standard.
Active Safety consists of Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) with Traction Control (TRC), Hill Start Assist Control (HAC), and Emergency Stop Signal (ESS). VSC will prevent wheels from slipping sideways when cornering or sudden steering movements, while TRC prevents wheels from slipping when the vehicle is moving in a straight line. HSA will hold the vehicle in place when on a slope, to prevent stalling and rolling backwards. Lastly, ESS will flash the hazard lights when the vehicle stops suddenly, to prevent rear end collision. All of these are now standard on the Toyota Hiace Window Van.
As for the Hiace Panel Van, it will now come with Anti-Lock Braking (ABS) and Brake Assist (BA). Both the Window Van and Panel Van variants of the Hiace is also equipped with twin SRS airbags and 3-point seatbelts for all passengers. Like other Toyota models, the Hiace’s body structure is also GOA-certified.
The powertrain remains the same, with the 2.5-litre D-4D commonrail turbodiesel engine powering the Panel Van and high spec Window Van, while the mid range Window Van retains the same 2.7-litre VVT-i petrol engine.
Buyers of the Toyota Hiace are backed with Toyota’s 3-year or 100,000 km warranty. The Toyota Hiace Panel Van will cost RM87,600*, while the mid range Window Van costs RM102,600. The range topping Hiace Window Van will set buyers back for RM109,600. All prices consists of individual private registration with insurance, metallic color and is valid for Peninsular Malaysia only.
