Under the hood lies a new 2.0-litre TwinPower turbo-diesel engine, which is good for 190 hp at 4,000 rpm, while the peak torque of 400 Nm is readily available from 1,750 rpm till 2,750 rpm. The eight-speed automatic transmission transfers all of that power to the rear wheels. The new 520d Sport can sprint from standstill to a hundred km/h in just 7.7 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 233 km/h. However, the car isn’t all about outright performance, as BMW claims that the 520d Sport only sips 4.1L/100km (average combined).
