Held from 7 to 8 February 2015, both Ford owners and enthusiasts were given an opportunity to navigate through an off-road terrain in Tamparuli, during the 2015 Ford Lanun Darat Adventure.
The off-road adventure that was held across two days was organized by Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC) and navigation was led by veteran safety instructor, Paul Si. A total of 80 participants took part, which included the Ford Ranger and Ford Everest.
Lee Eu San, managing director of Sime Darby Auto Connexion said, “Lanun Darat is one of the many programmes organised for us to reach out to our customers and equip them with the necessary driving skills to make the most of their vehicles.”
A full range of Ranger was in the convoy, ranging from the basic XL model, to the highest specced Wildtrak model. The Ranger Double Cab 4×4 3.2L XLT Hi-Rider that was recently launched also made an appearance.
The convoy started from the SDAC showroom in Kota Kinabalu. The convoy proceeded to Tamparuli for their first off-road session. Practical lessons with Paul Si on off-road techniques were enjoyed by the participants. After their first off-road session, the convoy proceeded to Shangri-La Rasa Ria Resort for the night. Day two the convoy headed out to Sepanggar for another round of off-road session before heading back to the SDAC showroom. The off-road sessions were a good opportunity to test the Ranger and Everest’s off-road abilities.
