You’ve probably heard the news about a burned-out red Ferrari that caused a standstill along Jalan Travers during rush hour that happened just a few days ago (4th Feb). According to The Star newspaper, the Fire and Rescue Department managed to put out the fire although the car was destroyed.
Luckily, no one was injured, as the victim managed to escape from the Ferrari as soon as he/she saw smoke coming from the engine bay.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department, they have yet to find out what caused the annihilation of the Italian exotic, because it appears the F430 was not involved in a crash of any sort with the fire clearly starting in the engine bay. Although they managed to put out the fire, by the time they arrived, the Ferrari was already pretty much a cinder.
So what is the moral of the story? We believe that it is prudent to carry a small fire-extinguisher in your car because you never know when you’re going to need it. In this situation, the driver could easily have put out the fire himself before it spread if he had a fire extinguisher handy.

Have a look at the photo taken earlier which we found today on Facebook. It’s obvious the fire started out small in the engine bay, as the driver even had the time to pop the rear hatch:
Now if he’d had one of these (below) handy, he would have been able to put that flame out before it spread and totally destroyed his beloved car. Carry one with you in your car folks, as I’ve always said, you only have to need it once for it to be worthwhile. – CW.
