Part of Tan Chong’s corporate social responsibility program and on top of their newly launched Nissan Relief Campaign, Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) through its parent company Tan Chong Motor Holdings Berhad has donated RM30,000 to the Malaysian Red Crescent Society for flood relief. YM Tunku Tan Sri Shahriman Tunku Sulaiman, National Chairman of the Malaysian Red Crescent Society received the donations at their (the Malaysian Red Crescent Society) headquarters yesterday. The amount donated will used to assist those affected by the floods around the nation, and the Nissan Relief Campaign is set to assist Nissan owners whom vehicles has been affected by the floods.
Mr. Tan Keng Meng, Director of Marketing and Product Planning of Edaran Tan Chong Motor said, “As a Malaysian corporation, doing our part for the community is our responsibility, and it is important that we do what we can for them in their time of need. Our fellow Malaysians are struggling to cope with misery and frustration due to the loss or damage of their homes and belongings. Our thoughts and prayers are with them through this difficult period. We hope our contribution will provide some respite and relieve their burden.”
Under the Nissan Relief Campaign, Nissan owners who were affected by the floods are offered with a 25% discount on genuine Nissan parts and labour charges. Towing charges of up to RM150 is free as well. The campaign started on 27 December, and will end on 28 February 2015.
