According to Deputy Finance Minister Ahmad Maslan, from next month onwards, prices of RON95 and diesel could see a drop. “If the downtrend in global oil prices continues over the next ten days to come, I am confident, RON95 and diesel can be fixed at below RM2 a litre,” he added.
At the moment, RON95 and diesel retails for RM2.26 and RM2.23 per litre, respectively. The new prices are said to be in the range of RM1.90 to RM1.95 per litre, for both RON95 petrol and diesel. This would be a drop of 30 sen from the current selling price.
Ahmad Maslan also hopes that the drop in fuel price will also encourage businesses to reduce their goods and service prices.
