Audi just recently released a video on their YouTube channel showing a duel between the Audi S3 and the Audi Sport Quattro. It pits Stig Blomqvist in the Audi Sport quattro against Hermann Müller in the Audi S3. This occurred on the old rallye track in San Remo. A heavy duel with a narrow result.
The Audi Sport quattro is rated with 306ps of power (302hp), manufactured in 1983 (yes, thats right!) and has a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Audi S3 is rated with 300ps of power (296hp), manufactured in 2013 and has a 6 speed S tronic gearbox.
A thing to note is that Stiq Blomqvist is a 67 year old driver who won the WRC Driver’s Title in 1984 driving the then Audi Sport Quattro S1. On paper the car specs look quite evenly matched. So let’s have a look at the video to find out the end results.
