The New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN NCAP) has just released the latest results in ASEAN NCAP safety ratings for Nissan Teana.
The D-segment sedan achieve full points in the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and became the first car to achieve 5-Star rating in Child Occupant Protection (COP) with 88% compliance. ASEAN NCAP Chairman, Prof. Dr. Wong Shaw Voon, delivered the result to Nissan representative at the Thailand International Motor Expo 2014, IMPACT Muang Thong Thani, Bangkok recently.
Prof. Wong said, “Congratulations to Nissan for this achievement, and this new record means a lot to both the consumers and car manufacturers. The perfect score in AOP as well as being the first to reach 5-Star level in COP is a commendable result and has set another benchmark for a large family sedan.”
The result shows that the tested variant; 2o14 Nissan Teana 2.0 XL CVT (available for Malaysian market) obtained a perfect score of 16.00 points in the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP). For Child Occupant Protection (COP), the Teana also became the first car to have scored 5-star in the history of ASEAN NCAP with 88% compliance; scoring 43.00 points out of 49.00 points. All ASEAN variants are fitted with Electronic Stability Control (ESC), ISOFIX and top tether as standard feature.
