After teasing the Forester STI tS Concept back in September, Subaru has finally unveiled the new Forester tS, which looks exactly like the concept.
Like the concept shown before, the Forester tS features various STI and tS emblems around the car. On the front, the grille sports the usual STI treatment, with a cherry red pin stripe around the grille paired to a STI emblem on the lower right. Besides that, the front and rear bumpers are also unique STI design, with a STI-designed front spoiler and STI-designed rear-under spoiler. The rear boot gets both the STI and tS emblem treatment as well.
Moving into the interior, the Forester tS has sports various STI designed add-ons, like the luminescent speedometer (up to 260 km/h) with STI logo, STI leather wrapped steering wheel, STI-designed push start button, black leather/black punching Ultrasuede combination seats and a carbon-toned instrument panel.
Under the hood, the engine remains largely similar to the Forester 2.0 XT, which is the 2-litre horizontally-opposed direct injection turbo (DIT) engine, with 276 horsepower under the hood. Subaru has retuned the ECU and TCU for the Forester tS, as well as adding various STI-designed parts like the front tower bar, front and rear draw stiffener and rear subframe support. The shocks too, has received the STI treatment, which now rides 15 mm lower. The 19-inch BBS rims are wrapped with 245/45 R19 Bridgstone ER33 tires (which seems curiously odd on a performance Subaru).
Subaru intends to produce only 300 units of this Forester tS, and will only be limited to the Japanese market.
